Terceira Island | Half a day

Departure from the hotel at 9:30 or 14:30 in the direction of Monte Brasil and its tower “Pico das Cruzinhas”, with a panoramic view of the city of Angra do Heroismo, introduced in 1983 in the list of World Cultural Heritage sites of UNESCO. Our tour will continue to the south, and then we will turn east towards Praia da Vitoria, stopping in the town of São Sebastião, where the first settlers lived. Here you will see the unique monument “Os Impérios do Espírito Santo” and Igreja Matriz church – a wonderful example of 15th-century architecture adorned with adorable fresco painting..
When visiting Praia da Vitoria, we will make the first stop in “Pico do Facho”, from where you can see the bay, which got its name in honor of civil wars. Nearby is the city of Lajes with its airport, a strategically important site during the Second World War.
We return to Angra do Heroismo, on a beautiful road, with a stop at Serra do Site where you can see the “sea” of the so-called “cerrados” (small patches of land separated by similar stones).

Our tour will continue to the south and then we will turn east towards Praia da Vitoria, stopping in the town of São Sebastião where the first settlers lived and where travelers can see the monument “Os Impérios do Espírito Santo de São Sebastião” erected in honor of the Holy Spirit and Igreja Matriz church, a wonderful example of 15th-century architecture, adorned with adorable fresco painting. Further we will visit the city of Praia da Vitoria, making the first stop in “Pico do Facho”, from where you can see the bay, which got its name in honor of civil wars. Nearby is the city of Lajes with its airport, a strategic important site during the Second World War. Lunch in one of the local restaurants.
We leave Praia da Vitoria and move in the direction of Serra do Cume, where you can see the “sea” of the so-called “cerrados” (small patches of land, separated by similar stones). We continue the tour and make a small stop in the “Algar do Carvão”, a natural geological reserve. Further, the city of Biscoitos, with its natural basins that are the result of ancient volcanic eruptions, and famous vineyards, located directly on volcanic soils.
